What We Do

When you’re hungry, your first priority is food. So we provide food for those in need. We also know that when you’re struggling, there’s more to be addressed than just tangible needs. That’s why we also prioritize speaking life into the next generation and taking a holistic approach to understanding all the needs a person may have.

Weekend Food Bags

Our weekend food program supports 17 schools within the Barrow County School System by supplying students identified as food insecure with bags of food to take home on the weekends. And inside each one, we include a card with a message to encourage the student. It may sound simple, but we’ve heard stories of kids reading that card before reaching in their bag for a snack or meal.

We believe that through the support of our community, we can target and eliminate struggles like food insecurity and systemic poverty in Barrow County. Because we know hunger isn’t the only hurdle to be overcome, we also partner with a number of organizations throughout our county and beyond to provide the care families need to improve their situation. Life restoration

The Life Restoration Program provides transitional housing and support services to homeless families with children in the Barrow County School System. In collaboration with other Barrow County nonprofits and agencies – as well as Barrow’s Interim Housing Coalition – its goal is to help homeless families get back on their feet, promote housing stability and build life and career skills for program participants.
